Instruction Process

Each new subject begins with a package delivered by mail or UPS. It contains a large-format, easy-to-follow personalized textbook that takes you through the art lesson in detail. When needed, new art tools and supplies are included with the lesson.

Throughout the textbooks you have plenty of opportunities to practice the assignment activities. When you are satisfied that you have completed the assignment and done your best work, you send it in, using the envelope provided.

In a short time, your graded assignment is returned, usually along with the next textbook. You receive your original drawing back, covered by a transparent overlay where your Instructor has offered comments. We never make comments directly on your original artwork.

Complimentary and improvement points will be noted on the overlay, plus a letter grade. You also receive a personalized letter where your Art Instructor analyzes your work and your progress.

It’s like having your Instructor right there at your side as you move on to the next lesson.

When you successfully complete all the art lessons in the Fundamentals of Art course including a final exam and portfolio, Art Instructions Schools will award your Certificate of Completion.
